Wal-Mart Reports Record Third Quarter Sales
President and Chief Executive Officer David D. Glass announced record net sales for the third quarter of fiscal 1999, with comparable store sales gains across all U.S. operating divisions and continued strong performance in our International segment.

Supercenter Expansion Continues Across America
Wal-Mart will open more than 150 new Supercenters during fiscal 1999, including conversions of existing Discount Stores. The Supercenter format combines a full Wal-Mart Discount Store with a complete supermarket under one roof.

Wal-Mart Associates Raise $1 Million for Children's Hospitals
Through the annual Children's Miracle Network campaign, Wal-Mart Associates and customers raised more than $1 million for local children's hospitals across the United States.

Wal-Mart Supercenters — A complete grocery supermarket combined with a Wal-Mart Discount Store, plus services such as bakeries, delicatessens, frozen foods, meat and dairy, fresh produce, gardens, optical, photo, hair salons and one-hour photo. More than 560 Supercenters and growing.

Sam's Club — Members-only warehouse club offering high-quality merchandise at exceptional value to small businesses and individual members. 451 Sam's Club locations in the United States.

Wal-Mart International — More than 715 stores serving customers in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany, the Republic of Korea, and Indonesia.
