A Bug's Life — Production Notes
A Bug's Life is the second feature film from Pixar
Animation Studios and was created using a substantially
expanded version of the production pipeline developed for
Toy Story. The technical team developed new shaders
for translucent materials such as leaves, petals and insect
wings, and a new global illumination approach for the
interior of the ant colony.
The picture was produced over a period of more than two
years by a creative team that includes John Lasseter,
Andrew Stanton, Don McEnery, Bob Shaw and producer Darla
