Global Markets Tumble Amid Asian Crisis Fears NEW YORK (CNN) -- Stock markets in the U.S. and Europe plunged sharply on Thursday as new economic data from Asia stoked fears of a widening regional recession. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped more than 200 points in early trading. "Investors are extremely jumpy," noted one Wall Street analyst.
